Angelina Jolie‘s upcoming role as the sorceress Maleficent is based on the story of Sleeping Beauty, the film is said to be a darker take on the tale of the sorceress Maleficent, the self-proclaimed “Mistress of All Evil,” and her unwitting target Princess Aurora (aka Briar Rose).
