Many questions about Chris Lighty’s suicide are left unanswered. theYBF reports:
The NY Daily News caught up with an understandably puffy eyed Veronica Lighty outside her Riverdale home yesterday. She looked almost unrecognizable as she spoke about her Chris’ shocking suicide.
As reports surfaced that Chris, founder of Violator Management, shot himself outside of the home they shared together right after a fight with Veronica, she maintained he was “too smart” to kill himself over an argument with his wife. He loved his six kids too much:
“My husband was too smart of a man. He was a genius. No smart man is going to leave his children for fighting with his wife. That makes absolutely no sense. We had a passionate relationship. We fought all the time.”
“My husband was obsessed and adored me. He was one of the most beautiful people that I have ever met in my life.”
Veronica, who had 2 kids with Chris, then revealed the surprising fact that she retracted the divorce she filed for last year, right before Father’s Day:
“I had filed for divorce last year, but retracted it” two days before Father’s Day, she said. “That was my gift to him.”
She then said, more than once, that Chris had a lot of weight and stress on his shoulders. But she maintained they were not $5 million in debt. They sold their multi million home in Manhattan and bought an equally expensive one in the Bronx. She said:
“Chris had a lot of weight on his shoulders….Let him die proud, at peace because that’s what he needed and that’s what he wanted. He just wanted peace and he wanted to relieve all that stress.”
What those stresses were exactly was not explained. Chris’ clients like 50 Cent, Diggy Simmons and more have expressed complete devastation over his death.
