DivaWhispers was invited to see the magnificent show that Cirque du Soleil put on in remembrance of the one and only Michael Jackson called Immortals. Veronica Torres, who is the director of Visit Dallas, welcomed the city’s best (including me lol) to view the show.
We started our night off in Victory Park at the Havana Cigar Bar where the food was catered and sponsored by Grey Goose, so you know what that means. Ha! I met some wonderful people including Jasmin Brand from the Brand Pointe, Matt Houston, Shawn Williams, Kevin Walker from Culture Lab, Jackson at FluentDallas and of course my peeps from Partychaser, Ron and Deville.
We all moved from Havana to the Red Bull Lounge inside of the AAC where we continued to mingle. Now it’s time for showtime!
I will not say too much about the show other than it’s incredible and everyone should definitely see it. Cirque du Soleil tribute to Michael Jackson, “Immortal,” confirms one thing, it’s that the King of Pop’s presence, even in death, sure can rile up a crowd. I’ll try to sum up the show in a nutshell. So here goes…
The show had dancing Bubbles the chimpanzee, big-Afroed J5 impersonators, a mid-show cello solo, a sexy contortionist act atop a children’s book, groups of synchronized mummies in hoop skirts, a life-sized dancing glove, glow in the dark aerial acts, a one legged dancer (who was awesome), and almost every Michael Jackson song ever made was played. I’m going to sum it up by saying it was a visual extravaganza!
