The beautiful platinum sellling, 25 year old mother of two and X Factor runner up, Rebecca Ferguson checked in with DivaWhispers to talk about her celebrity crushes, her musical inspirations, what type of music she just can not stand to listen to and more.
When did you first start singing?
I have always been singing. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t singing. My earliest memory of trying to write a song was at age 3!
What did your family do to encourage you?
My younger brother Sam was so supportive. When I would lose faith he would always be there with words of encouragement and introduce me to new music.
What are you inspired by when you write?
Life in general inspires me. What I’ve been through and what I’ve seen going on around me.
Who are your musical inspirations?
Musical inspirations of mine are Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke, and Otis Redding.
Even though you were runner up for X Factor you still have a platinum album how has your life changed since then?
My life is totally different. I am able to do things that I have never thought were possible.
What embarrassing songs might I find on your MP3 player?
You will not find any HA! All of them are quality tunes.
Who are your celebrity crushes and have you met them yet and if so, how was it 
?
I would say my celebrity crushes are Channing Tatum and Ryan Gosling… I haven’t met them YET .
If you had to open for any artist who would you choose and why?
I would have to choose Florence and the Machine. Just because I think she is cool and quirky.
If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?
If I was not pursuing singing, I would still be studying law and being a mum.
Do you play any instruments?
I play a little piano but not very much.
What are the ingredients that make a standout artist?
I believe a standout artist has individuality, passion and soul.
What genre of music can’t you stand to listen to?
I’m unsure of the name- but the genre where they scream and shout as if they are in pain HA!
What’s upcoming for Rebecca?
I have a European tour coming up and hopefully a U.S one too!
*Side Note* Rebecca just recently collapsed in front of shocked staff at a Melbourne radio station. Her handlers gave her a can of Coke before fixing her hair and make-up so she could resume her interview schedule.
“Resorting to stalking my twitter the same people that watched me collapse … And gave me a can of coke and said now go do your interview,” the singer tweeted to her 600,000 followers.
“The same people that worked me so much I collapsed and had to say stop!!! I need to see my children you need to give me time off vile!!!”
“Was so exhausted I couldn’t physically walk on my own but was still told I had to work!!!.. Be nice to have a nice new responsible caring management team!! Who care for me and my childrens well being ?#seeyouincourt!!!”
Ferguson’s British management company, Modest, look after most British X Factor exports, including Leona Lewis and boy band One Direction.
However Ferguson, who dated One Direction’s Zayn Malik, found the boy band were no allies on Twitter.
One Directioner Louis Tomlinson sent a tweet to Ferguson stating “success is impossible with out proper hard work“.
She replied: “I forgive you I used to be scared and think I had to do whatever they told me to do too Xxx. Hope your good “
Tomlinson promptly deleted his tweet, which went to 4.5 million followers.
Ferguson’s album Heaven peaked at No.14 in Australia.
