Missy Elliott announces that its her time on “9th Inning,” one of two new singles that she premiered in full on Monday. Timbaland joins his longtime collaborator on the song, contributing a verse to the track, which fans heard a snippet of last week.
The pair also team up for Missy’s song “Triple Threat,” which, along with “9th Inning,” will be available for download from iTunes Tuesday (today). “Guess who back. Yup, I’m the best/ I’m that chick, cuz I’m a triple threat/250 mil, now who could top that?/ Slap whoever said I’m, irrelevant,” Missy raps on “Triple Threat.”
The Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and producer last released an album in 2005, delivering her set The Cookbook. In 2011, she revealed that she suffered from Graves disease, an autoimmune disorder. Health issues, she said, had kept her away from the music scene.
Now Missy is back in the studio, working on her seventh studio album, which will be released by Atlantic Records.
